A 21-Year-Old's Journey of Self-Improvement: Update 2

Every once in a while the past few years i would get a quick spur of motivation. I would go to the gym 5 times a week, I would start reading a book and set out many goals for me to aim for. And every time - without fail - I would lose the sudden spur of motivation, stop going regularly to the gym, never finish that book, and rarely reach the goals I set out for myself. This Cycle has repeated itself many times over during my teenage and high school years. It's depressing but probably true for most people. Now every time I get those sudden waves of motivation - I may not consciously admit it -  I know deep down that the wave of motivation will fade, and I will fall back into my old, bad, but comfortable habits.

Recently that has changed. After reading James Clear’s book “Atomic Habits” I for the first time ever actually truly believe that I can change myself to become the best version of myself. James Clear argues that the reason most people fail the goals they set out for themselves is not because of a lack of motivation or drive, but because of the lack of a clear system. James Clear argues for building small but lasting habits. Habits that over time will compound into extraordinary results. James gives a clear framework and system for lasting habit creation. A system I will try to implement into my life going forward. I will keep you updated:)
